Organized in 1902, the Cambridge Volunteer Fire Department is located in Southern Wisconsin approximately 13 miles east of Madison. The area we serve encompasses approximately 64 square miles in both Dane and Jefferson Counties. The communities we serve include the Village of Cambridge and Rockdale, the townships of Christiana, Oakland and Lake Mills with an approximate population of 2800.
With a roster of forty active firefighters, the department operates and maintains
7 pieces of apparatus along with 3 special rescue units. Each year the department responds to an average of 160 emergency calls. Our goal is to protect the citizens of our fire district and their property through fire suppression, fire prevention and education.
